Trauma-Informed Healing
Dana Stachowiak—TheEdCollab member, author, and vice-chair of NCTE's Genders and Sexualities Equality Alliance—and Dulce-Marie Flecha—TheEdCollab member and educator dedicated to serving homeless and highly mobile students—will lead this important session on trauma-informed pedagogy. This one hour session will explore how Healing-focused, Trauma-informed teaching is more than just a set of practices, it is an entire ecosystem. This work requires whole communities to explore ways of supporting not only children, but also adults. Dana and Dulce-Marie will help you consider the ways we critically examine ourselves, our community, and our approaches. This session is one to watch with your team. You will leave inspired, with practical tools, and a critical push to see students more fully then you even already do. All of this to create a more healing and whole learning environment for all.
