Authentic Writing
Shawna Coppola, TheEdCollab Fellow and author of Writing, Redefined, and Amira Abdel-Aal, TheEdCollab Fellow and expert in project-based learning, lead this session on maximizing writer's engagement. As the school year turns toward its final weeks, it is a time to explore possibilities, try out new plans, and invite students to show off all they are learned across the year. What you and your students learn in the final weeks shape how they will begin the new year. Shawna and Amira will offer tips, tools, and techniques for supporting students' writing in order to more effectively bridge students' in school and out of school literacy practices. You will explore multi-modal writing projects, both digital and beyond, and other methods and structures to engage students and improve their writing skill.
