Reading Workshop Keys

Diana Palacios, TheEdCollab Fellow, and Chantal Francois, co-author of Catching Up on Conventions, lead this one-hour session highlighting key methods and structures for a strong reading workshop K-12. While so much in reading instruction matters, it is often the most simple ideas and practices that make the most significant impact. Diana and Chantal, who each have expertise in supporting schools in developing community-wide, rigorous, and engaging reading instruction, will help you filter out the noise and focus on the essentials. Whether you are new to reading workshop pedagogy, in the process of refining your practice, or a veteran who knows professional learning is continual, this session will help your reading work go farther.

Standards-aligned: CCSS R-10; Danielson: 1, 2a-b, 3, 4a, d-e; ISTE 1, 2, 3, 6, 7; Teaching Tolerance: Identity, Diversity, Justice, Action
