Differentiate!

Kate Roberts, TheEdCollab member and co-author of DIY Literacy, and Heather Rocco, TheEdCollab member and award-winning literacy educator, will lead this practical session on mastering one of the most essential (yet, hardest to do well!) practices: differentiate instruction for all of our students. Needs, goals, strengths, learning styles... there is so much to consider when devising teaching, tools, and assessments. Kate and Heather will support you in designing structures that are responsive and engaging... and do-able! Instead of spending hours and hours of planning for work that will support just one class period, they will help you make the best use of your time by creating systems and tools that will have repeated use. No matter your level of experience, this session will help you grow your differentiation practice and support your students' literacy successes!

Standards-aligned: CCSS R1-10, W1-10; Danielson: 1, 2a-b, 3, 4a, d-e; Teaching Tolerance: Identity, Diversity, Justice, Action

Each session is linked to professional and learning standards. As every district is different, crosswalk these between your own standards for alignment or contact us with questions.
