Session 9 – Read & Share Thoughtfully: Fight Fake News

Christopher Lehman, Founding Director of The Educator Collaborative, and coauthor of Falling in Love with Close Reading, and Brian Sweeney, award winning high school Journalism Advisor, lead this session on developing stronger, more empowered readers of information. Beyond simply analyzing source credibility, learn lessons for teaching into the choices readers make, how they approach texts, and how to read as a digital citizen.

Standards-aligned: CCSS R1-10; Danielson: 1, 2a-b, 3, 4a, d-e, ISTE S1-3, 6-7

Each session is linked to professional and learning standards. As every district is different, crosswalk these between your own standards for alignment or contact us with questions.
