Session 8 – Media Literacy Matters

Kristin Ziemke, coauthor of Amplify, Apple Distinguished Educator, and member of TheEdCollab, and Dr. Dana Stachowiak, Assistant Professor of Curriculum and Instruction, specialist in social justice education, and TheEdCollab member, will lead this session on teaching media literacy to help students be more critical consumers of their digital world. Increasingly, text and media blend to share information and send messages, we can build upon our best literacy practices to include these ubiquitous kinds of texts throughout every unit.
